Vinyl Style Sound Wave Art

Probably the most iconic musical medium has to be the vinyl record.
Vinyl records were the main medium for music reproduction in the 20th century. Records managed to retain the largest market share, even when modern formats such as the compact cassette were mass produced. By the eighties, digital media, such as the compact disc,  gained a bigger share of the market, and the record left the mainstream in the early 90s.

Since the nineties, records continued to be manufactured and sold on a much smaller scale. In the 90s and early 00s they were commonly used by disc jockeys (DJs), especially within dance music and club culture.

They are now also listened to by a growing number of audiophiles. The vinyl record has made a bit of a resurgence in popularity as a format for rock music in the early 21st century.
Vinyl Sound Wave Art are unique. They are an exclusive style, only available at Mono Wave Art.

Daily Doodles #1

Every day, I like to do a little bit of doodling in my sketchbook… Inspiration however is always an issue.
Nothing is more intimidating than a blank page!

For ideas on things to draw, I looked to the app Sketch-a-Day. Sketch a Day updates daily with a new word for the community to interpret. Members attack the word in different ways and with varied mediums.
Having the restriction of a single word leads to some creative thinking. I tend to try and do pretty much the opposite of my first thought.

My doodles can be viewed on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter…. along with my the other rambling ideas.

DNA Dark – Music Art

Every piece of music is unique. All songs have their own special DNA make up. Every song’s rhythms, beats and vocals create a ‘one of a kind’ DNA piece of art.

When the music plays, it’s own special signature is revealed. This is then processed, enhanced and manipulated to create each awesome and vibrant DNA art.

DNA Dark Sound Wave Art is not available anywhere else. It is absolutely exclusive to Mono Wave Art.

All artworks are custom made by myself and proofed for approval. You can customize and add special messages to make it as personalised as you desire.

RDR Jose Gonzales – Far Away

Jose Gonzalez - Far Away Sound Wave Art

Veneer wave Jose Gonzalez – Far Away Sound Wave Art

Red Dead redemption 2 by Rockstar Games is out soon – I am certainly not alone in being crazy excited to pull on my cowboy boots and get back into my stetson hat.

The sound design and soundtrack to Red Dead Redemption were pitch perfect. The drums, trumpets, whistles, grunts, lingering guitars and rattles…. pefectly emulate the ‘spaghetti western’ sound that Ennio Morricone composed in clasics of the 1960’s

One of my all time musical moments in gaming is in Red Dead Redemption, when the main protagonist, John Marston, makes his way into Mexico.

As you set off on your horse, the stunning track by José González, fades in. The song is Far Away. Trecking south, with a bright orange sunset and this song playing just blew me away. It was unexpected and in 35 years of gaming, I don’t think I have ever been caught so much ‘in the moment’.

Jose Gonzales is a fantastic musician… A Swedish/Argentinian folk singer. His songs are usually just him and his guitar, but his sound is like no other. I would definitely reccomend checking him out, if you haven’t already.

The cover art from Jose Gonzales first studio album, Veneer, is my inspiration for this Sound Wave Art. I have searched to no avail, to find the artist who creates his covers, so I have to assume that he sketches them himself.
If someone out there knows for sure, let me know.
