Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. These simple four colours combined in printing can create a huge colour gamut. Not sure if its because i’ve worked in print for so long but there is something about the base colour combination that still brings a smile to my face.
The boxes are simple and clean with CMYK colours spilling from them. Combining a few of my art staples, this shows my design geek love of pantones, CMYK colour pallettes, simple layout and clean geometry.
Feng Shui is believed to use the laws of heaven and earth to improve your life. Feng Shui literally translates as “wind-water”.
Each direction on the Feng Shui compass represents certain aspects of life and can, (with a little research and knowledge – or Google) be used as a reference to construct a more harmonious life. If you want to know more, try Google 🙂
Personally, I really love the simplicity of Feng Shui and especially love the compass direction symbols and meanings.
My version of the Feng Shui compass are deriritive of my love of cubes, squares and colour.
Note: Feng Shui compass is upside down? (Weird?) South at the top? Huh?.

Would love to live a simple, more basic life but unfortunately i seem to just gather….well…. things. I know a lot of the stuff i hang onto is really just clutter but i just cant seem to to throw the stuff out.
Recently tried to have a bit of a clear out but still have waaaaay too much random stuff. Moving flat in next few months and dreading it. Gonna be a big job.
All comments are welcome.
Please visit my personalised Sound wave art shop at Mono Wave Art or my Society6 shop for random geeky prints and cushions. Might add Feng Shui prints and cushions in the future. If you’d like anything, just ask and i’ll sort you out. Cheers. 🙂
Been working on quite a bit lately but not updating on here so brace yourselves for a barrage of random art over the next few weeks. (Sorry!) Hopefully, however some people out there may appreciate some of my art.
Heart Cubes by Alex Patterson
This geometric piece is basically a stylised, simplified heart.
Always had a thing about isometric boxes ever since my Dad taught me how to correctly use a drawing board with T square and set squares. From that day I immediately had a respect for geometric form.
I do plan on making some of my geometric art prints available to purchase on my sound wave art website. http://www.monowaveart.co.uk
This was a design/artwork that is developed from 16 bit binary and is very personal to me. I still intend to get this as a shoulder/upper arm tattoo.
When interprated it reveals my philosophy in life, ‘Question Everything’.
The cubes represent the love i have of geometry and natural order. The non obvious layout of the design represents chaos. The colour scheme is representative of my love of art and design. The CMYK print process combination also aesthetically looks great.
To convert the art back into binary(ones and zero’s)Â you need to read from top to bottom, left to right. Each cube represents four ones or zeros. A small cube is a zero, then filled left section is a one, blank top is a zero and right filled is anther one. It takes two cubes to represent one letter. 01010001 (top 2 cubes = Q).
